Non-Compulsory Training Sessions for Committee Members of 2008

Workshop: Communication Skills and Dealing with Difference

This course was run on Wednesday 14th of November.  It will be offered again at the start of Semester 1, 2008.  Dates and venue to be confirmed.

NOTE: It is required that people attend this as a committee, not individually.

Attendees will be seated at a table with their fellow committee members. Each session is limited to 20 people (or 25 absolute max which is equivalent to 4 or 5 clubs. As each session books out, another will be offered).

This course will be provided by Felicity McCall-Wolf and Freddy Peredo from Monash University Caulfield Health Wellbeing and Development. They are developing this course specifically for MONSU Caulfield Clubs and Societies.

OH NO!

Daniel was beaten by a girl at the Communication Skills workshop - or maybe he was just being nice...

Certificate Courses

Clubs and Societies often hold events that involve the provision of food and alcohol.  In order to be aware of your legal obligations and meet the duty of care to your members, we recommend that at least one member of your committee have the following qualifications.

If you attended these courses independently they would cost between $60 to $85 each.  At MONSU Caulfield we are able to offer them to you at a significant discount, at around $40 to $45 each.

These Certificates are recognised by the hospitality industry and are required if you want to work at a venue that serves food and alcohol, so they can help you get a job too!
