Quicktips:

  • Most cinemas have "Cheap Tuesday" (aka "Tight Arse Tuesday") where tickets are discounted to approx $9-10 for everyone.  (NB: Some cinemas, such as Nova have Mondays as their traditional cheap ticket day, so check their websites for further details)
  • Check the websites of each chain as they may have special offers to their internet customers.
  • Chains such as Palace, the Classic, Dendy, Village, Hoyts offer patrons membership programs for a nominal fee that entitle members to discounts for movie tickets.
  • Buy movie vouchers in bulk (Monash University Bookshop Caulfield sell these.)
  • Streetpress (such as Beat and Inpress) or Friday’s The Age EG liftout offer free giveaways for movies.
